I am a mining engineer turned UX designer from Kolkata, India, with around 5 years of experience as a UX designer. I have been a part of the IT industry for 20+ years and have played a variety of roles including that of a graphic designer, programmer, project manager and many more.
I tend to do whatever I love to do, and in my effort in doing so, I have taken up different professions in my career- starting from a mining/ construction engineer, a private investigator, a part-time lecturer in a college, and now a UX designer.
The reason for my choosing UX design as a career is, my friends and colleagues often say that I am good at understanding people and making them feel better. Also, they think I am creative. It is one of the senior leaders in my previous organization who first added me to his team as a UX designer because he thought I would be a good fit. So, I left my lead visual designer role with my old team and took up the new role. In short, it is my well wishers’ advice that has triggered my interest in this area.

I took a break from my career from 2017 to 2019 to write two books. After the second book was published, I joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a UX Designer.

I love reading, writing and illustrating for newspapers and magazines. Also, I occasionally work voluntarily as a caregiver to senior citizens.

I am a visual artist, too and you may want to visit my visual design portfolio.
Also, I own my T-shirt brand. You may want to checkout T-shirts designed by me at www.coolkuchi.in
